After months of walking along the furniture, pushing anything that would move, and cruising along the walls, Ruby finally took two unassisted steps on Saturday! We were sitting in the grass at the park enjoying the amazing fall-like weather and some of the fresh fruit we had just purchased at the Farmer's Market, when Steve said "Look, Ruby's standing by herself." This was a surprising feat in itself because she usually plops on her diaper-bootie as soon as she realizes no one is hanging on to her. I said "Ruby!" and she proceeded to take two steps towards me! After dropping down to her knees we picked her up and she took two more steps. Ruby was very proud of her self! What a fun morning! I'm so thankful that Steve and I both got to witness those first steps!

Congrats on the Ruby 2 step. What a wonderful accomplishment. We love the pics. Thanks! See you all in a couple weeks for Ruby's big day.
ReplyDeleteYea, Ruby! You're going to have lots of new things to show off on your Birthday. Your Great Grandpa Bill Anton would have been proud - he was a great 2-stepper (something I never learned).
