Summer Vacation!

As evidenced by the lack of posts lately, we are officially on summer vacation and thoroughly enjoying it!!!

A couple weeks ago, I said goodbye to Kindergarten (I'll be teaching Reading next year!) and Ruby said goodbye to Miss Kerry and her friends for the summer! I was SO ready for vacation, but it was a bit sad knowing Ruby will miss Kerry and all of the kids. I hope she doesn't get too bored with just me this summer!

We celebrated Daddy's birthday (he's officially O-L-D!) and headed up to Minneapolis. (FYI-We did a horrible job of taking pictures this time. We spent time with so many loved ones, but didn't get pictures of many of them. I guess we just enjoyed each moment. I will have to ask the Grandmas for their pictures!)
Ruby is racking up those frequent flier miles and did great on the flight again.

We spent a sunny, warm Memorial Day at the lake and visited with lots of family. Grandma and Grandpa even put up a special swing for Ruby.

While in River Falls, Ruby had several tea parties with Grandma Donna, played with Auntie Sam, gave Grandpa Steve lots of smiles, terrorized Dora, and watched Grandma and Grandpa play softball!

Daddy flew up in the middle of the week and we headed down to Winona to visit with lots more family! Ruby went for walks with Grandma Nancy and her puppies, got a professional haircut from Auntie Jen,

played with her (second?) cousin Liliana,

and went for her first swim with Grandpa Bill!

Grandma and Grandpa got Ruby her first swimming pool and she loved it!

Grandpa and Daddy took Ruby swimming when the girls went wedding dress shopping for Jen. I was a little bummed I missed out on the splish-splash, but we had so much fun watching Jen try on dresses. She looked beautiful in everything she tried on, and she found the perfect one for her big day! I'm so happy I got to be a part of the fun!

Back home, Monte was not happy to see how much faster Ruby is crawling. We're amazed at how fast she went from stationary, to crawling, to pulling herself to standing, to cruising along the furniture- yikes! It's going to be a fun summer, I'm so thankful I get to spend so much time with my sweet Ruby!

  1. Thanks for spending time with us. We really enjoyed the visit. Ruby is a little angel. Her smiles and big blue eyes just melt my heart. We can't wait to see you in St. Louis the end of the month.
