So, it turns out that Ruby loves bouncing on the exercise ball and it usually puts her right to sleep! Steve has been doing a LOT of bouncing in the evenings when he gets home from work because Ruby's been going through a fussy period in the evenings. He is a wonderful Daddy, so calm and patient with the fussy baby (and the fussy momma, too!). And, it's obvious that Ruby loves it when her Daddy comes home in the evenings...she's always gazing up at him as they bounce, rock, and dance.
Some Milestones:
Ruby's definitely getting bigger and has grown out of all of her newborn size clothes (mostly in length). Now we are having fun wearing all of her adorable 0-3 month outfits (I'm afraid she's going to grow out of these quickly)!
Ruby has also started sleeping a little better at night. We were only getting 2-3 hour stretches of sleep, but within the past week she has gone 4-5 hours on 3 seperate nights. Who knew 4 hours would sound like such a great thing (well...I'm sure all of you moms out there know exactly what I'm talking about!)? Cross your fingers that this trend continues every night!
Ruby is good at grabbing onto things- mostly Mommy and Daddy's shirts when we're holding her! She is also starting to focus on and follow objects. She has a puppy rattle that she loves to stare at.
Steve and I are eagerly awaiting that first real grin and have been doing everything we can think of to get it out of her! She's come close a few times this week so we're thinking we'll see it soon. I'm a little worried that the puppy rattle might get the first smile!
