We decided to have a movie night Saturday and watched The Happiest Baby on the Block. We learned all about the 5 "magical" S's to calm a baby! Steve practiced swaddling Pooh...and he looks so content and happy! Hehehe!
Can anyone name the other 4 S's???
I'll give one---side/stomach positioning. However, the NICU nurse in me must say..always put baby to sleep on its back! :)
ReplyDeleteI just thought of 2 more "S"s. Steve and Sheri!
ReplyDeleteWhenever we put a crying baby in the SWINGING Rocker it was very calming. SINGING was also effective, but no James Brown! Stroking the back and saying "moynka, moynka, chop-chop-chop is an old Polish remedy. If all that fails I say that last "S" would be SWITCH to the other parent and go to bed!
ReplyDeleteHMMMM - Singing, Swinging, Swaying, and snuggling? Or the 4 'P's : Pacing, Patting the back, Pacifying, and Praying??
ReplyDeleteI agree that Pooh does seem especially happy - I think Steve did a wonderful job with that swaddle! :) You will do just fine with the real, live, sweet little baby.
Pretty Good! If you want the Happiest Baby on the Block these are the five: 1. swaddle 2. side/stomach 3. shush 4. swing 5. suck
