Baby Nelson's Nursery

All we need is a changing pad for the top of the dresser and we're ready!
Notice Monte's cat stand by the window...he's insisting it stay there so he can keep an eye on the birds (and his baby brother or sister). He isn't too interested in the crib yet, but he thinks it's a great spot to hide under. We're hoping he'll be sastisfied to stay under it and not try to venture in it!

Well, we are officially two months away and we have the nursery (almost) already to go! I think some of our friends think we're a bit crazy to have so much ready this soon, but we have a very busy couple months ahead of us. Ill be back at school in a few short weeks, so I'm in the process of getting everything ready for my new Kindergarteners and preparing for a long-term sub. That first month of school is always exhusting for me so I'm trying to be over-prepared, hoping to teach right up to the last minute! Steve's phD thesis is due my first day of school, so he has been writing, writing, writing. I haven't been seeing much of him lately, but he is doing an amazing job of focusing and working hard to finish up this "marathon"! After 6 years in the Neuroscience department at Washington University, Steve will defend his thesis on September 1st. I will then be the proud wife of Dr. Nelson!!! We would appreciate all of your prayers as he completes this phase of work.

Our friends had a wonderful baby shower for us last night. More about that soon!

  1. Oh my gosh, it is so cute. I just love it. What a nice job you've done. It really is special. Monte is very good at letting you know what he wants! I think that's the Nelson in him. I have a feeling he knows exactly what is going on and is as anxious for the new arrival as we all are. Now, some pics of you too! We haven't seen you since you've been home and we want to see if you are growing. Best wishes to both of you to get through this hectic month ahead. You go Steve....almost there.

    Love you all very much,
    Mom

  3. I love the babie's room - it is so cute! I bet you get excited every time you walk by or in it - imagining a tiny baby in there so soon! I know I can hardly stand it myself and agree with Nancy - it is going to be very hard being 10 hours away and not be able to hold that little one as much as we would like to.
We are very excited for Steve too as he nears his milestone - what an amazing accomplishment!
    We are all very blessed!

    Love,
    Mom/Donna
