Spring Break 2019

Fostering Little Miss Sunshine was both a whirlwind and a turtle race at the same time.  There was always so much going on with her and so many visits and appointments each week.  On the other hand, there was a lot of waiting, never really knowing how long she would be with us or even where she might go.  We were told the night she came to us that it would be a short placement.  Then again in December, January, and twice in February we were told that she would move "soon".  We never got used to the crazy unknown and had felt like we could never really make any plans ahead of time.  In some ways it is really good that she is so young and wasn't even aware of the up and down rollercoaster we were on.  We kept Ruby and Ada in the dark about most of it as well, but they were acutely aware of the fact that we didn't have plans for spring break.  We waited until the last minute to make a decision about going to visit my parents.  You can always travel with foster kids, but if going out of state you do need prior approval.  We ran out of time for that this year for spring break so we had a bit of a stay-cation instead.

Someday we will go on a scavenger hunt to see how many we can find

Movies with friends.  Taking pictures is hard.  This cracks me up.

Ruby prefers blades and she's incredibly determined to figure it out on.her.own.

Games!  If it seems like Little Miss is always wearing that dress it's because she is ALWAYS wearing that dress.

And ice cream, of course!  This rolled ice cream is the creamiest.

We didn't deliberately leave Little Miss out on the fun, we've just learned that she really needs consistency and that meant going to daycare most days.
