Little Miss Sunshine turned 4 last month. We asked her what kind of birthday she wanted and Ruby and Ada gave her several suggestions, but she just insisted on a "pink" party. We decorated with lots of pink (worked out pretty well that Valentine's day was right around the corner so our decs did double duty. We opened a few presents in the morning including a fancy pink tutu dress. (Which I am now regretting purchasing as she throws a royal fit any day she can't wear it. So basically most days.)
That dress!
She requested pink donuts for breakfast of course!
After church and lunch we met a few friends at Build-a-Bear for her party. I wanted to keep it low key because I'm just never sure how she's going to react and didn't want her to be overstimulated. It ended up just perfect. She went straight to the pink unicorn with a pink dress and never looked back.
After Build-a-Bear we went back to our house for pink snacks (strawberries, grapes, pink goldfish-who knew?), pink lemonade, and pink cake of course!
Wish you could see this cute face!
She opened a few more gifts (legos, magnetic pony, scissors and tape kits, hair bows, dress up clothes) and had fun playing with friends.
It was a sweet day and I think she felt pretty special. We felt sad for her mom that she was missing out on such a special day and she didn't get to see her that week because Sunshine was sick. We are pretty honored to celebrated this day with our Little Miss Sunshine.
Stats: 30th percentile for weight, 60th for height. She is the skinniest little thing you've ever seen. Eat: Usually eats several bowls of cereal for breakfast. Has a consistent lunch of chicken nuggets, yogurt, fruit and carrots (don't judge). We offer whatever we're having for dinner but she's pretty picky (and stubborn). She will tell you her favorites are cake and candy and cupcakes and cookies and ice cream!Sleep: So much better than the first month. After 3 books, she will go to sleep in her bed on her own now, which is a huge win. She still wakes several times on a typical night unfortunately. Rarely naps anymore which means she's ready for bed by about 6:30. Personality: She's just a little sponge, she's so smart! She is sweet as can be and incredibly stubborn as well. When she doesn't get her way she gets m.a.d. MAD. Milestones: We are 100% potty trained during the day which is another huge win I'm proud to say. She can ride a trike, speech is clearer, dresses herself for the most part. She can now identify the first three letters in her name (and several others) and the number 4!Play: Little Miss Sunshine plays really well independently. She loves anything girly (dolls, little figures, kitchen set), coloring, cutting, taping, puzzles and books. Her favorite things are probably her dress up clothes. My mom sent fancy high heels, rings, and bracelets for her birthday and she wears that birthday dress any chance she gets. My Grandma Ruth sweetly sent money for her to pick out a dolly, but as soon as she laid her eyes on the fancy Sleeping Beauty dress there was no convincing her to get a doll instead. Grandma saw pics of her huge smile and I think she was happy she picked something she loved!
Imagine a huge grin
