Santa Delivered

We've always headed to Minnesota and Wisconsin for at least part of the holidays every year since our very first when we were on our honeymoon in Jamaica.  Sadly this year, for reasons out of our control, we decided staying home in Waco was our best option.  (Several people have asked if we stayed because of our foster placement.  The answer is NO!  We are absolutely allowed to travel with her.  And, even if we chose not to travel with her, one of us would planned to take Ruby and Ada up north.  There were other reasons that was not a good choice for us this year.)  The big girls were pretty devastated about not going (as were Mom and Dad), but we made the best of it and had a nice time here.

The eldest found out the truth about the big man right before Christmas and was a bit disappointed.  However everyone was super happy Christmas morning and I even got several "thank you's" so I call that a win!

Ruby got the big purple bike she requested.

Ada got the egg chair she wanted.

S got a cute dollhouse, with furniture and dolls.

The girls each got some books, slippers and calendars from Mom and Dad.  Ruby and Ada also got walkie-talkies and Little Miss Sunshine got a play tent.

Dad got a classic Nintendo, which turns out to be one of the favs of the whole fam!

It was a sweet morning of the 5 of us playing with our new things.  Later that afternoon we biked over to our friend's and neighbor's house for dinner and playing.  Sadly we took no pictures.

We ended up at Urgent Care the day after Christmas because the littlest one spiked a HIGH fever.  Thankfully, it was just an ear infection and the meds worked quickly.

Poor babe!  Neither R or A have ever had a fever that high!

Over break, the big girls had a special Mom date for being great big (foster) sisters.

Fancy ladies

Love my big girls!

Due to the circumstances of not being able to visit family up north this year, Gaga and Grandpa decided to come down to Waco for a few days after Christmas.  It was so nice to be able to have some family time for the holidays.  We had a second round of Christmas presents, craft time, put together puzzles, played legos and toys, ate lots of yummy food, swam, bowled, went to a movie, and had a New Years Eve bash!

Ruby used a gift card to buy a puzzle to work on with Gaga and Grandpa!

Bowling day!

New Year's Eve partiers!
